SourceMedical Announces Milestone Release of its Vision Business and Clinical Management Software - Delivers a Conduit for Surgical Facilities to Achieve HIPAA Compliance, Meaningful Use Compliance, and Pursue ARRA Funding
Today, SourceMedical announced a significant advancement to its Vision Software. Version 4.1’s new features make it easier for ASCs and specialty hospitals to achieve HIPAA and Meaningful Use compliance as well as added functionality. In addition to the new features, Vision EHR has attained ONC-ATBC certification by the Drummond Group. This complete Inpatient EHR certification allows specialty hospitals and surgeons affiliated with our ASC clients to pursue funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
”Feedback from our 500 Vision clients and input we received during our business review meetings and focus groups provided us with great insight into directing our development efforts. Client input, combined with our knowledge of what federal and state level mandates needed to be addressed to provide full compliance with security, stimulus and quality reporting requirements were the driving forces behind the features in Version 4.1,” said Scott Palmer, president and COO for SourceMedical’s Surgery Division. “The new features in Vision 4.1 demonstrate our commitment to making it easier than ever for customers to address today’s increasing requirements.”
To ensure patient confidentiality and support HIPAA and Meaningful Use compliance, Vision 4.1 offers a number of new security features which allow, and facilitate greater management control. Some of these features include enhanced password protection, lockout capabilities and password encryption, support for secure communications over SSL, document encryption using the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), and emergency access rights.
New features have also been added to streamline the registration and discharge processes. Key features include customized electronic discharge instructions and patient e-signatures as well as enhancements in the areas of Advanced Directive, CMS’s Conditions for Coverage notifications, and more.
Enhancements to Vision EHR include improved vitals and allergy tracking, improvements in the areas of patient’s home medications and immunizations, and general improvements in performance and output management.
