SourceMedical is pleased to announce a significant advancement in our Vision software with the introduction of Vision 2.6. Vision 2.6 expanded features include:

• Fully integrated electronic health record providing a common repository for clinical and administrative data
• Platform upgrades include Microsoft Vista support, InterSystems Caché upgrades and 64-bit server support
• Addition of SourcePlus PurchaseConnection PCX electronic purchase order processing
• Addition of SourcePlus Passport secure online patient registration
• Introduction of EzForms, a sophisticated tool to allow facilities to manage any custom form
• System-wide enhancements that offer ASCs more indepth reporting, auditing and billing capabilities

SourceMedical Vision customers can now seamlessly integrate their clinical data (from Vision EHR) and all administrative data (from Vision) into a central repository. This single database offers the only electronic health record in the industry that provides customers with a consistent workflow within a core ASC application, without having to purchase additional middleware or interface software. In addition to a consistent interface, security permissions, user roles and all other application preferences are managed from within this single Vision 2.6 application.

Vision 2.6 provides Vision clients with an upgrade to the Microsoft .NET framework to enable full support of Microsoft’s Vista operating system. Also included within the platform upgrade is support for 64-bit servers, which will enable Vision clients to scale their databases for larger operations while achieving greater performance levels. In addition, Vision 2.6 also provides an upgrade to the Caché 5.2 Database Management System which offers increased scalability, performance and security.

Seamless access to two new SourcePlus products is included in Vision 2.6, eliminating several time-consuming manual processes, enabling ASC staff to spend more time focusing on day-to-day activities. SourcePlus Passport eliminates the need to manually contact patients prior to their surgical event by allowing patients to complete their pre op information online from the privacy of their own home. This new integrated product offers facilities a great opportunity for enhanced patient satisfaction, as well as a new way to increase clinician productivity and efficiency.

In addition, SourcePlus PurchaseConnection (PCX) eliminates the need to contact individual vendors, fill out all of the necessary forms and manually submit orders for processing by streamlining the ordering process. PCX vastly improves purchase order speed and accuracy by allowing facilities to submit purchase orders to participating vendors within the PurchaseConnection portal. The PurchaseConnection portal will electronically route the purchase orders to the appropriate vendors.
